Why Am I Running for Santa Cruz City Council?
I am running because I know that together we can make a difference, that we can create positive change that will transform this city into a model for others to follow, and that there is  tremendous desire for innovative and imaginative solutions to the issues our community is confronting.
Our City needs a strong, authentically progressive voice on the Council - one that operates on principle, not political convenience. When the Council ignores the nearly unanimous opposition of the progressive community to the expansion of the Downtown Ordinances (as expressed by the steering committee of SCAN, the Green Party, and numerous prominent progressive activists) and proceeds to ram through a set of laws that have nothing to do with the agenda it was elected to work on, it is time for a change.
